Kierna Mayo, VP and Executive Editor of Roc Lit 101, has acquired, in an exclusive submission, celebrated cultural critic and game-changing Black feminist writer and influencer Jamilah Lemieux’s SHE BAD: Tales of Love, Hate and Baby Motherhood, a poignant essay collection as a personal meditation on, an examination of, and a tribute to Black single motherhood. Through her signature candid, humorous, and yet often biting takes, Lemieux suffers no fools while also courageously revealing the scars of her own parenting journey and search for self-acceptance in a world that doesn’t see the full worth of women like her.
